Creating a Comfortable and Engaging Space for Children - Perioperative Service, Whangārei Hospital

The children’s waiting area in the Perioperative Service, Whangārei Hospital, has had a makeover thanks to support from Health Fund PLUS.

“We intended to create a space that children would feel comfortable in while they wait for surgery,” offered Vickie Taylor, Acting Clinical Nurse Manager.

“Creating a comfortable and engaging space for children in such a stressful environment can make a big difference.”
The revamped play area is helping to keep the kids calm and distracted while they wait for surgery.

Kudos to Health Fund PLUS and the hospital staff for making this happen!
