The Laboratory collects and/or receives specimens such as blood, urine and swabs for analysis, from hospitals, rest homes and GP's. Only a health professional can request laboratory tests.
The test results are used by doctors and other medical staff in the detection and management of ill health and disease.
Te Whatu Ora Laboratories are accredited with International Accreditation New Zealand (IANZ) in all disciplines and for all medical testing procedures performed for human samples.
