Coronary Care Unit - Whangārei Hospital

The Cardiac Rehab team provide Cardiac Rehabilitation to all post-cardiac patients following a cardiac event in Northland, by providing ongoing support and advice to our patients, this involves risk factor management, explanation of their condition, medications. We also provide an exercise programme/back to work advice.
An exercise programme is run in Whangārei and individual programmes are offered to patients out of the area or who are unable to attend the programmes.

Phone follow-ups and home visits are offered as per the area and need of the patient.

Community programmes are offered in Kerikeri, Kaikohe, Dargaville, Maungaturoto and Whangārei.

Zoom sessions are also offered for people unable to attend our programmes.

Ancillary services attached to the CCU are:

• Physiotherapy
• Social Work
• Occupational Therapy
• Takawaenga
• Chaplin
• Dietitian
• Diabetes Nurses.

Hours

Visiting Times: 11am – 8pm
Rest Periods: 1pm-3pm (negotiable depending on patient's condition)
