Orthotic Service

The Orthotic Service provides a range of braces and supports from head to toe, accommodative footwear and foot supports.  This service is available to all Northland residents and visitors to Northland.

To access this service you will require an orthotic prescription (referral) from one of the following:

• Your general practitioner
• Podiatrists under a community contract (due to a diabetes-related foot problem)
• Medical/Surgical specialists
• DHB occupational therapists, physiotherapists and podiatrists.  

Please Note: if you are referred by a private surgeon/specialist, occupational therapist or physiotherapist and your condition is not covered by ACC 
you will be liable for the full cost of treatment. Otherwise there is no charge. 

Hours

Monday to Friday, 7.30am - 4.30pm – by appointment only. 

Please note this service is only available at Whangārei Hospital.
