The medical year in New Zealand runs from January to January for House Officers and from February to February for Registrars.

House Officer Year - 2025 Training Year

Registrar Year - 2025 Training Year

For most House Officer positions, the year is divided into four quarters, however the following rotations are for six months:

• Obstetrics & Gynaecology
• Emergency Medicine
• Ophthalmology
• ENT

The following House Officer rotations are available for three months:

• Assessment and Rehabilitation
• Medical Admit
• Psychiatry
• Relief

Registrar positions are available in the following areas:

• Ophthalmology
• Paediatrics
• General Medicine
